Pennoyers School Conversion
Pulham St Mary

Completion due Spring 2010
Works consists of demolition of 3 no. extensions and removal of supporting walls to the interior rooms. This created issues with supporting the roof construction above. Pockets had to be formed in the ground floor slab to allow for propping to be left Insitu whilst the ground floor slab was formed.
New construction involves 2 no. extensions, 1 using oak glulam beams and rafters with structural glazing to walls and roof, the second a brick & block kitchen extension with patent glazed roof.
New mezzanine floor with steel frame, timber joists, underfloor heating and chipboard floor. Quality finishes consist of movable partitions, structural glazed screens, stainless steel Balustrading to the staircase. A new platform lift is also to be installed.

Externally a new ground source heat pump and horizontally laid pipework at 1.8m depth creating challenges within programming in relation to other external works.

A new retaining wall / planting bed will be constructed with flint infill panels to match the 15th Century Chapel façade.

There are also considerable conservation works carried out to the existing buildings including flint repairs, stone renewal and roof repairs.
